Dr. Douglas K. Lemon will present highlights of the rich history of the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) that has inspired scientific discovery and educational wonder. Dr. Lemon will illustrate the significant role that the laboratory plays in space, and on Earth.

Celebrating 50 years in 2009, SDL is a leading university-affiliated applied research and engineering laboratory for aerospace, climate and defense applications. SDL employs more than 450 dedicated employees who provide customers with world-class capabilities in space-based, passive infrared sensor system design, development, calibration, and evaluation; and SDL also excells at real-time tactical data processing and display systems.
