Youping Sun is an assistant professor in the Department of Plants, Soils, and Climate. Dr. Sun focuses his research efforts on whole-plant responses to abiotic stresses and in promoting the use of native plants for water-efficient landscaping. 

He has authored 93 refereed articles and numerous book chapters, abstracts, and presentations. Dr. Sun received the American Society for Horticultural Science Nursery Crops Distinguished Achievement Award and Outstanding Ornamental Publication Award.
