Outstanding Graduate Mentor of the Year
Dr. Jared Colton is an assistant professor of technical communication and rhetoric in the Department of English at Utah State University. His research addresses the intersections of rhetorical theory, ethics, and politics within technical communication and related fields, from concerns of pedagogy to social justice. Currently, he is interested in how classical and contemporary ethical frameworks inform the production, practice, and critique of people using social and mobile media and accessibility technologies. He is currently collaborating with the Center for Innovative Design and Instruction and PhD student Sherena Huntsman for an ongoing service-learning project. He has published in the Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, Computers and Composition, Technical Communication Quarterly, and other journals. His book Rhetoric, Technology, and the Virtues is currently in press with the University Press of Colorado/Utah State University Press.
