Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor of the Year
Susan Cogan is an assistant professor in the Department of History. Dr. Cogan has a longtime passion and professional commitment to undergraduate research mentoring. She has mentored three of the History Department’s top undergraduate researchers and continues to teach mentees at every stage of the research process, from grant writing to professional conferences.
Her mentees have published academic articles and presented at national and international conferences. In addition to individual mentoring, Dr. Cogan has reformed the History Department’s undergraduate capstone course, which not only affects a few students, but all of USU’s undergraduate history majors.
