Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor of the Year

Jeff Mason is an associate professor in the Department of Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences. Dr. Mason is involved in cutting-edge research and prioritizes the development of his students above the research.

He has mentored 21 undergraduate students, including four Honors students and two Summer Undergraduate Agricultural Biotechnology Research Experience students. 

Dr. Mason immerses his students in research that investigates age-related reproductive senescence that provides real-life “experiential” research opportunities. Notably, 32 student authors have at least one publication produced from Dr. Mason’s program at USU.
