Laboratory self-audits provide an opportunity for departments, faculty, staff and students to foster a culture of safety by focusing on safety topics specific to each research laboratory. It is recommended that laboratories conduct routine audits of the laboratory facility. Self-audits provide a method for laboratories to identify hazards, identify program deficiencies, and correct unsafe conditions in the laboratory.
