All laboratory animals used in research on campus are housed in this facility or the satellite facility in the Biotechnology Center.

The Laboratory Animal Research Center manages and oversees all laboratory animal research facilities on the University campus.

Our primary goal is to provide animal care that exceeds minimum standards that have been established for laboratory animals. Animal care within the LARC is conducted in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, PHS Policy on Humane Care and Use of Animals and DHEW Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and University Policy (Policy 585: Animal Care and Use).

If a researcher has a particular request for utilizing the LARC and its equipment, they should first contact the facility Manager. Researchers may be assured that every effort will be made to meet their requests. However, the Manager requires a reasonable period of time and adequate information in order to coordinate the facilities and equipment.
