Write Winning Grant Proposals seminar registration now available

The Proposal Development division of the Office of Research is pleased to announce registration is now open for the next Write Winning Grant Proposals seminar for faculty.

The Write Winning Grant Proposals seminar has been extremely popular among faculty researchers. Offered annually in the fall, this year’s seminar will be held on Oct. 9 in the Eccles Conference Center room 205/207.

“We expect a large turnout at this seminar again,” said Jerilyn Hansen, manager of Proposal Development. “We’ve had excellent reviews from past participants who find the seminar helpful in learning how to submit more competitive proposals, with the ultimate goal of gaining extramural funding for research and creative endeavors.”

The Write Winning Grant Proposals seminar is an intensive one-day seminar for learning grant-writing concepts, addressing both practical and conceptual aspects. Emphasis is given to idea development, identification of the most appropriate granting agency to apply to, how to write for reviewers, and tips and strategies that are of proven value in presenting an applicant’s case to reviewers.

Returning as instructor will be Dr. Stephen W. Russell. Dr. Russell is the co-founder and managing member of Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops, LLC. He has been a member of multiple national review and advisory groups and currently holds emeritus status at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was the Wilkinson Distinguished Professor and director of the Cancer Center. NIH, USDA, the American Cancer Society, foundations, and industry have continuously funded Dr. Russell over the course of his career.

Seats are limited and those interested in attending will need to register. For more information and to complete the registration form, visithttp://research.usu.edu/rd/workshops/.
