The Council on Undergraduate Research

Founded in 1978, the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is an organization devoted to “support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship”. CUR helps faculty, staff, administrators, and students to get more involved in research and have access to the resources to do so. This organization organizes many of the larger research presentation opportunities for students, such as the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, Posters on the Hill, and even the World Congress.

CUR offers membership to all levels of the university. They assist these individuals in their effort to “develop, enhance, sustain, and support undergraduate research on their campuses and beyond”. Members gain exclusive access to conferences, symposiums, research resources, grants, discounts, and professional development opportunities.

The awards they currently offer are the CUR Fellowship, the CUR-Goldwater Faculty Mentor Award, and the Arts and Humanities Faculty Mentor Award.
