Fall Undergraduate Student Research Symposium

The Fall Student Research Symposium is USU’s non-competitive celebration of undergraduate research and creative work. Held each December, students from every discipline share poster or oral presentations to the broader public.

Why Apply?

Presenting at the FSRS is a great way to practice in advance of our larger Student Research Symposium held each spring during Research Week or ahead of a professional conference or event. All presenters receive feedback from our graduate student and faculty evaluators, as well as a dedicated presentation post on our website that can be shared on CVs, professional social media profiles, or personal websites. FSRS is also a critical venue for students graduating in December to share capstone projects.

Faculty and instructors are welcome and encouraged to integrate FSRS into fall courses. There are resources available for a variety of involvement levels, from extra credit to attend portions of the event to a course-specific required oral or poster session. Event organizers are happy to assist you in scheduling your course into this event upon request.

If you're viewing the schedule on your phone, you'll need to request the desktop site (explainer for Safari and Chrome) or download the Airtable app (Apple, Google Play) for the full feature set.

Date: December 7, 2023 from 11:00am-3:00pm.

Location: USU Merrill-Cazier Library & online
