Student Spotlight: Natalie D’Souza

Natalie D’Souza is a Wildife Ecology and Management major with a minor in Journalism who is passionate about wildlife. From a suburb outside of Chicago, Illinois, Natalie came to USU to be a part of the amazing Natural Resources program Utah State offers. She fell in love with research and quickly got involved in many different projects.

Natalie works with multiple faculty on campus including Dr. Dan McNaulty, Dr. David Stoner, Dr. Nicki Frey, and Dr. Lori Spears on projects ranging from pest surveying, to urban wildlife cameras, to trail monitoring. She has partnered with the Wasatch Wildlife Watch, Snapshot USA, and was even approached by the Urban Wildlife Information Network to share data and learn from a national group of researchers.

Her passion for wildlife and the improvement of the natural world has distinguished her as an outstanding undergraduate researcher. In the future, she plans on using these skills while pursuing a PhD and working in her field.
