Student Spotlight: Audrey Lidgard

Audrey Lidgard
Major: Biology, emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology
Mentor: Dr. Susannah French

Audrey Lidgard is an undergraduate researcher from Salt Lake City, UT who is majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology. When first coming to Utah State, Audrey was planning on becoming a vet. Shortly after beginning, however, she switched to Biology and has found passions in biology and ecology research. In her free time, Audrey enjoys winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking.

Audrey works with Dr. Susannah French and affiliated graduate students on research regarding lizard ecology and how lizards interact with humans. Audrey was awarded an URCO grant in the summer of 2019 to study her combined interests in biology and climate change. Her study Stress Sensitivity to Temperature in Plateau Side-blotched Lizards (Uta stansburiana uniformis): Forecasting Physiological Consequences of Climate Change focuses on how temperature affects lizard physiology.

Audrey plans on pursuing her masters and PhD degrees at some point, but plans to get involved in her career field to narrow down her research interests further.
