Colin Flint is an internationally recognized scholar and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Political Science at Utah State University. He has published research in leading journals on the topics of geopolitics, peace and conflict, world-systems analysis, and just war theory. He is the author or coauthor of 4 books (including two very influential textbooks out in multiple editions, and an important volume coming out with Stanford University Press), editor of 4 scholarly books, author or coauthor of over 70 peer-reviewed articles, and author or coauthor of over 30 scholarly book chapters. His work has over 7,000 citations. He is among the world’s preeminent scholars of geopolitics and political geography, with his work translated into many languages.

Dr. Flint’s highly interdisciplinary approach means his work has been very influential across a range of disciplines, including Geography, Area Studies, Economics, Strategic Studies, Political Science, International Studies, and more. A veteran at USU for over a decade, and with nearly 30 years in academia, Dr. Flint holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of Colorado and a B.A. from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
