Dr. Glass’s impact on sociology, particularly in the areas of gender and labor inequalities, is profound. Her role as a researcher, educator, mentor, and administrator embody this award as she exudes excellence in all of these categories. Her scholarship examines inequalities in work organizations at the intersection of gender and sexuality and race and ethnicity mainly at the executive and managerial level. Her quantifiable impact alone is quite impressive. She holds an h-index of 29 (far above the social science 21.5 average) and has over 5,000 citations from over 90 publications in the top journals in the fields of Sociology and Management including Social Forces, Work & Occupations, Human Resource Management, Human Relations, and the International Journal of Sociology. She has won research grants and awards from the National Science Foundation, the Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University, and the Gill Foundation among many others. Dr. Glass has served on 40 graduate student committees at the doctoral or master’s level, chairing or co-chairing 20 of those committees. Her current research role statement is 60% with a 25% teaching and 15% service responsibility. Dr. Glass’s research is both national and international in scope and recognition, focusing on workplace inequalities.
