With a professional background in natural product chemistry and synthetic biology, Jie’s work at USU has led to eight peer-reviewed publications in top journals and ten presentations at regional and national conferences. He was recognized as the Doctoral Student Researcher of the Year in the Department of Biological Engineering in the past two years and the Doctoral Student Researcher of the Year in the College of Engineering in 2023.
