Wildland Resources

Leslie Forero is a Presidential Doctoral Research Fellow studying ecology in the Department of Wildland Resources. Leslie pursued her undergraduate studies at University of California Berkeley, where she became interested in how soil organisms shape plant ecology. After a short time spent performing vegetation surveys for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Leslie joined the Kulmatiski Laboratory at Utah State University. Her dissertation research largely focused on how interactions between plants and soil organisms affect plant biomass production across a plant diversity gradient. Her research spans greenhouse, field, and laboratory contexts. In her spare time, Leslie enjoys hiking, skiing, knitting, and sewing.
