After growing up primarily in rural Iowa, Lori Neuman-Lee finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Biology at Iowa State University and her second B.S. at Iowa State University in English. Her undergraduate research examined the effects of toxins on turtle development.

She then completed her Master’s Degree in Biology at Eastern Illinois University, where her research focused on the effects of an herbicide on watersnake reproduction. Lori is finishing her PhD in |the laboratory of Susannah French. Her research at USU is primarily focused on the effects of |stress on immune and endocrine function of reptiles, but she has expanded her research to |collaborate to examine species such as newts, Unita ground squirrels, bison, coyotes, and polar bears. Lori especially loves working with the undergraduates in her lab as they develop their own questions and design projects. She has been the instructor for the Comparative Animal Physiology lecture and lab and has guest lectured frequently for the Genetics course.

Lori lives in Logan with her high school teacher husband, Nick, their dog, Jax, and cat, Tini. Lori and Nick are expecting their first child in June!
