Min (Mia) Yang received her B.S. in 2012 in Animal Science from Sichuan Agricultural University, Chengdu, China. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Animal, Dairy & Veterinary Sciences of Utah State University and a research assistant under Dr. Irina Polejaeva focusing on animal reproduction. Mia’s research interest is in the development of transgenic livestock for biomedical and agricultural applications, epigenetic reprogramming in SCNT and understanding the molecular mechanism of oocyte competence and its effect on the outcomes of assisted reproductive technologies. She continuously gains knowledge on molecular techniques and stays on top of current literature related to novel molecular methods. Mia is an active member of the International Embryo Transfer Society (IETS). She presented her research at four different IETS annual conferences in January 2014-2017. She published three manuscripts in the last three years and is the first author on two of these papers published in Theriogenology and Small Ruminant Research. Mia was also awarded the Peter Farin trainee scholarship from IETS in January 2016. Additionally, Mia gave two invited oral presentations and 8 poster presentations at the international conferences during the last 3 years.
