Macy was nominated by faculty, students and staff. She is incredibly passionate about her research on microplastics, and has basically been ‘on-tour’ over the past year speaking at various conferences, workshops, and public events. Her efforts are advancing microplastic research, connecting collaborators in disparate research areas on a central issue, and raising a ton of public awareness about microplastics.
