Alison Cook is an associate professor of management in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. She earned her PhD from Purdue University in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources in 2004.

Her research focuses on gender and racial/ethnic diversity in the workplace, with her current work examining factors that shape promotion opportunities and post-promotion outcomes for women and minorities in top leadership positions.

Alison’s work has been published in top journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Leadership Quarterly, Human Relations, Work and Occupations, and Social Problems, among others. Her research has gained recognition by both academics and practitioners. Specifically, Harvard Business Review and the London School of Economics have spotlighted her work as well as mainstream media outlets such as NPR (National Public Radio), The Huffington Post, and The Guardian.
