Guadalupe Marquez-Velarde is an assistant professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Dr. Marquez-Velarde has developed an outstanding research trajectory, building a national reputation as a leader in her field, and forging partnerships with leading scholars and students across the country. 

She has published 12 articles and chapters and has half a dozen more under review or in preparation. She has successfully funded her research with several external and internal grants, including the prestigious Career Enhancement Fellowship by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
