Faculty Researcher of the Year 

Lucas Rentschler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Utah State University (USU). He is also the Director of the Experimental Economics Laboratory at USU, and the Director of the Experimental Economics Program at the Center for Growth and Opportunity. He obtained his PhD at Texas A&M University in 2010, and spent the next six years at Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala City. His research uses both game theory and experiments to inform policy-relevant questions and primarily focuses on three areas. First, he studies criminal justice reform, particularly policing incentives and the plea-bargaining process. Second, he studies misinformation and content moderation policies on social media. Third, he studies behavior in auctions and contests. His research has appeared in a variety of widely read journals such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, Experimental Economics, and many more.
