Dr. Christy Glass joined USU after completing her PhD at Yale University. She has published widely on equity and diversity in large companies, the impact of corporate board composition and the benefits of leadership diversity.

Her research is national and international in scope. In the U.S., her work analyzes the conditions that influence the appointment of women and racial/ethnic minorities to top positions and the impact of leadership diversity on firm performance. Her work with Alison Cook is recognized nationally and internationally for its contribution to theory and research on the “glass cliff”. Her international work analyzes recruitment and hiring practices in the finance and business service industries. This work reveals the ways employment practices shape opportunities for highly skilled professional workers in the global economy.

Dr. Glass’ research has impacted her field and beyond. Her work has appeared in top journals in Sociology, Management and Business. She has been invited to share her findings with scholars and practitioners around the country including several professional associations, corporate directors and executive groups and professional athletic organizations. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, NPR, CNN, The Guardian, BBC, Forbes Magazine, Newsweek, the Harvard Business Review and CNBC.
