Mimi Recker – Professor of Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences at Utah State University. Mimi earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania, and after working for several years as a software engineer in Silicon Valley, she earned her PhD from the University ofCalifornia, Berkeley. Mimi has held academic positions at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.Mimi began her faculty appointment at USU in 1998 and served as Department Head from 2008-2015. Her research focuses on helping educators and students reap the benefits of cyber-learning through access to the network of high-quality, interactive and free online learning resources. Over the years, this line of research, largely funded by the National Science Foundation, has involved a dynamic mix of faculty, post-doctoral students, and graduate students from Utah State University, as well as from around the world.
