Austin is from Centerfield, Utah. After graduating high-school he attended Snow College for his associates degree, then later transferred to Utah State University with his wife, Savanah. There, he finished his undergraduate degree in Finance and took many courses in data analytics. He was accepted into graduate school at the Huntsman School of Business and received his Master’s degree in Data Analytics, with an emphasis in economics and finance. While in graduate school, he was a research fellow with the Center For Growth and Opportunity and conducted research on tax policy. He also worked with Dr. Todd Griffith on research concerning the relationship between political risk and a stock’s tail risk. He has applied to several finance Ph.D programs and is looking forward to continuing his education and contributing research to the field. In his free time, Austin enjoys exercising, reading (either dense economic books or cliche spy-thrillers), eating steak, serving in his church, and going on cave-exploration trips with his family.
