Sajid Bin Hasnat is a Masters student majoring in economics at Utah State University with an expected graduation date of Spring 2025. He is currently working as a graduate research fellow with the Center for Growth and Opportunity and as a Research Assistant for the ASPIRE Center at USU. Sajid’s research encompasses both theoretical and experimental economics. He is currently designing bargaining models in a union wage negotiation game under asymmetric information and has also been engaged with laboratory experiments at the experimental economics lab to investigate labor market dynamics for undocumented workers. At ASPIRE, his focus has been on optimizing Electric Vehicle adoption behaviors and evaluating the effectiveness of various incentive structures. Before attending USU, Sajid attended Brac University in Bangladesh, where he received his bachelor's degree in economics. He engaged in several community service initiatives while at Brac, including leading projects in recycling and helping low-income communities (women in particular) to be financially independent. In Logan, he is engaged in serving the mosque through weekly sermons and advocating for graduate student demands as Graduate Senator for the Huntsman School. In his free time, Sajid likes to engage in community activities, debating and judging in competitive tournaments, and keeping up with politics. He has applied to several economics PhD programs as he strongly believes his greatest impact could come through economic research.
