Jordan Frank

College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences

Jordan Frank is Master’s student working with Dr. Young-Min Lee’s group in the Department of Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences. Prior to graduate school, Jordan studied biology as an undergraduate at Utah State University. Utah State University’s commitment to research, service, and teaching provided Jordan with undergraduate opportunities to explore his interests in medical research, infectious disease, and microbiology.

His graduate studies include the study of mosquito-borne flaviviruses, such as, Zika virus and Japanese encephalitis virus. Thus far, his research has uncovered important structural and functional properties of Zika and Japanese encephalitis virus genomes. The discovery of important structural and functional components of the viral genome can be used in the development of tools to block or reduce viral replication and pathogenesis.
