Lisa Gabbert is an associate professor in the Department of English at Utah State University. She is a specialist in folklore studies. Her work has appeared in the Journal of American Folklore, CUR Quarterly, Western Folklore, Contemporary Legend, Midwestern Folklore, Folklore Forum, and other publications. Her research interests include festival and play, landscape and place, and medical folklore. She has taught Folklore and American Studies courses at Indiana University- Bloomington, IUPUI, and is currently teaching at Utah State University. Lisa Gabbert holds an A.B. from Georgetown University in English Literature, an M.A. in Folklore and Mythology from UCLA and a Ph.D. from Indiana University Bloomington in Folklore and American Studies.
