Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor of the Year

Holly Murdock is an Assistant Professor in the Interior Architecture and Design program in the Caine College of the Arts. She received her undergraduate degree in Interior Design at USU where she enjoyed the opportunity to conduct undergraduate research as an honors student. After graduation she worked as a commercial interior designer at Gensler, the largest architecture and design firm in the world. There she worked on a variety of project types from workplace to hospitality, in locations across the western US and Asia. She then continued her education and received an MFA in Design Thinking at Radford University where her research focused on supporting the wellbeing of refugee children through the creative arts. Currently her teaching and research interests include design thinking, supporting student mental health, and providing design services to local non-profit organizations. Professionally, Holly is NCIDQ certified, a state certified commercial interior designer, a LEED accredited professional, and a member of the International Interior Design Association. Personally, Holly loves the beautiful mountains of Cache Valley, spending time with her family, being a failed foster kitten guardian, and vegetarian cooking.
