Heather Allen has started her undergraduate career as a research assistant with the Materials Physics Group. She has also worked on NASA’s Gateway project via sample photography and characterization, then after a few months took over data collection for permittivity values relating to NASA’s Europa Clipper mission. Within her first year of research she had designed, funded, and implemented her own project as well as taken over operation of her groups primary data collection vacuum chamber, including rebuilding and designing custom equipment.
