Plants, Soils, and Climate Department

Katie Hewitt has worked as an undergraduate researcher for Dr. Kaundal since fall of 2020. By using plant-microbe symbiotic relationships as a tool under continually changing climate, she believes we can grow healthier plants, allowing us to feed more people with more sustainable food, benefit the agricultural economy, and maintain a better soil ecosystem to increase sustainability in agriculture. She is an author on a publication and will be sharing first authorship on an upcoming manuscript.
