Mike is in his final year of the accounting program and will finish this summer. During his time at USU, Mike has been very involved in the Institute of Management Accountants, where he has served as the president, and Beta Alpha Psi. Mike is also a member of the USU Track and Cross Country team. He has received numerous Academic All-Conference awards for his academic and athletic achievements. Along with being a student athlete, Mike worked as a tutor in the Accounting tutor lab and as an undergraduate teaching fellow for intermediate accounting. He is currently a graduate research assistant for Dr. Richard Price. Mike is the recipient of the prestigious Stuart Cameron & Margaret McCloud Memorial Scholarship, a national scholarship given to only one IMA student member. His favorite areas of study in accounting are cost and managerial accounting. Mike completed an audit internship with Deloitte last summer in Washington DC and received a full time job offer beginning this September. After completing his MAcc, Mike will work in public accounting for a year and then begin a PhD in accounting to pursue a career in academia.
