She also created an online survey and extensive database of peer reviewed literature for an ongoing project to explore the diversity of the student body at regional campuses as well as the challenges that they are facing while enrolled in online distance education. Dr. Johnson is also assisting her in applying for the Undergraduate Research & Creative Opportunities grant program to conduct research on online course offerings and course design to better meet the needs of the undergraduate distance education students at USU. Franziska’s contributions to the project include survey design, data collection, entry, and analysis, and presentation of the results. Under Dr. Johnson’s supervision, Franziska is currently an ad hoc reviewer for the journal Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology. After graduating from USU, Franziska plans to continue her education at the doctoral level.
