Justin Campbell

Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services

Justin Campbell is a senior undergraduate student within CEHS. Though he is majoring in psychology and philosophy, his interests span much greater territory – for the last few years, he has performed research in Dr. Kerry Jordan’s Multisensory Cognition Lab, investigating the neural signature of Theory of Mind, a sort of social “mind-reading”. During his time in the lab, he has had the opportunity to travel to academic conferences across the country, from San Francisco to New York City, to present the lab’s ongoing research.

Currently, he is working on his Honors Capstone Project – a written thesis titled “Crowdsourcing Consciousness: The Social Construction of Subjective Experience”, which probes challenging questions about the mind and what makes us human. Upon graduation, he desires to synthesize his passions for conducting research, the mind, and medicine, by applying for MD/Ph.D. dual-degree programs. Though often found stoically reading the great works of philosophy, he is a real adrenaline junkie at heart. Any free time is spent outdoors, whether backcountry skiing with his dog, ice climbing with friends, or leading student trips through the Outdoor Programs.
