Caine College of the Arts

I was born and raised on O’ahu Island. I moved to Utah three years ago after completing one year at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. With two older sisters close in age, being the young oddball was a blessing in disguise. I learned how to be alone and observe the world around me. My bachelors here has served me well in that I have been able to explore and relate what many might consider disparate fields. In my research here I explored the relations between painting, disease and photograph. Creating contemporary and informed work is my top priority. I believe that seeking nontraditional paths and acquiring new skill sets can only strengthen my making. So, I am interested in pursuing training as an art conservator. The preservation of cultural heritage is a noble cause which conservators achieve through a use of chemical analysis, studio skill, holography and 3D imaging. Now imagine the profound art you could create if you harbored all of that know-how… I am excited for all there is to explore and I thank all my great teachers for the terrain that they have already led me through.
