Haylee Downey

Haylee Downey is a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Statistics. She is part of the University Honors program and is an Undergraduate Research Fellow. Haylee has been doing research since her first semester at Utah State and has worked under the mentorship of Dr. Amy Odum since Fall 2018.

Broadly, she is interested in how people make decisions and how impulsive decision making is related to behavior related problems. She received an URCO grant in May 2019 to develop a new method to study impulsive choice.

She is a coauthor on a paper soon to be published and presented research on pigeon behavior at a national professional conference last spring. She worked as a publication intern at the USU Center for Student Analytics during the summer of 2019. After graduation, Haylee plans to enroll in a PhD program in Psychology and hopes to continue to do research as a professor. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing and mountaineering.
