Animal Dairy and Veterinary Science

As a senior majoring in Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences, Elizabeth Park is an Undergraduate Researcher in the Benninghoff laboratory investigating the role of micronutrient supplementation on inflammation-associated colorectal cancer. As an early enthusiast in life sciences, Elizabeth’s passion increasingly grew as she volunteered at animal shelters and veterinary clinics during high school. Upon attending Utah State University, she quickly became interested in research and began actively assisting in a project investigating the impact of calcium and vitamin D or methyl donor supplementation on colon tumorigenesis. This experience has inspired her to learn more about nutrition and share this information with others. She has presented at the USU research symposium, ADVS research symposium, and the Hansen Life Science Retreat. Upon graduation, her plans include attending veterinary school and obtaining a degree in pathology to aid in future veterinary diagnostic methods and treatment developments.
