A born & bred Aggie, Hailey was born here in Logan when her Father attended USU. After moving from state to state growing up, Hailey attended the University of Minnesota before serving an LDS Mission to Berlin, Germany. She transferred to Utah State University in Fall of 2012 and has been active in several research projects.

In Fall 2013 she began with a project proposing to retrofit Logan’s Lowe’s Parking lot with green infrastructure for ecological stormwater management. In spring of 2014 she joined Dr. Bo Yang’s research team on a longitudinal study assessing the performance of bioswales on stormwater quality at Daybreak in South Jordan, UT. In addition she also joined Dr. Douglas Jackson-Smith & Dr. Courtney Flint of the department of Sociology, in the summer of 2014, collecting data on household water use for an iUTAH research project and took over the reigns on the Daybreak project.

In Summer 2015 she joined Dr. Ryan Dupont as an iUTAH Trainee, looking to expand her green infrastructure monitoring to a permeable paving as well. Hailey is passionate about making the world a better place and hopes to apply her degree in Landscape Architecture to creating beautiful, functional and ecologically sound landscapes.
