Jackson Smith

Biography

Jackson is a Geologist in the Geologic Information and Outreach Program of the Utah Geological Survey. His work involves bridging the gap between technical UGS research and public stakeholders and specializes in distilling complex geoscience concepts into practical insights and accessible information. He conducts public outreach for industrial, civic, and academic groups through educational speaking engagements and by representing the UGS at stakeholder-led professional conferences and events. In addition to periodically aiding other UGS programs with fieldwork, he responds to public inquiries requiring geologic expertise and writes articles for the UGS publication, Survey Notes.
