Student Showcase Session

At the conclusion of Day 1, the Utah Energy Conference will feature the 2026 UEC Student Showcase, a research exhibition where students from institutions across the state of Utah can present their energy-related projects from a variety of academic disciplines. Presenting students will showcase their work at a poster session held during Monday night’s Networking and Evening Reception, from 5:00-7:00PM.

Benefits of Applying

The UEC Student Showcase provides undergraduate and graduate students with the unique occasion to broadcast their work to an audience of conference attendees working in the energy sector. Students accepted to present at the Showcase will be given free entry to the full Utah Energy Conference and will be able to attend conference sessions and browse vendor tables at no cost. The poster session also serves as an excellent professional development opportunity, as students will get the chance to network with numerous academic, community and industry leaders in a wide range of energy-related fields.

Application Process

To apply to present a project at the UEC Student Showcase, students must fill out the application form linked below. Individuals or groups of up to four students may apply, and both undergraduate and graduate students who are actively enrolled at a higher education institution in the state of Utah will be considered. Students submitting an application will be asked to provide the names and contact information for all those presenting, as well as those of their faculty mentor and any coauthors. The application will also ask students to list their institution, college, department, and presentation title, as well as sign conference waivers related to compliance, publication, and photography permissions. Finally, applicants will submit a project description detailing what their project is about, describing how their project relates to the energy sector, and explaining the significance of their project to their chosen field, their local community, and/or the state of Utah.
