Leading the Charge: How USU's Institute for Disability Research is Advancing Disability Research and Policy in Utah

April 21st | 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Gallivan Hall in Salt Lake City

In Utah, nearly every one in five people live with a disability. Yet, the systems meant to support them still struggle to keep up.

Dr. Matthew Wappett has spent his career working to reduce that gap. As Executive Director of the Center for Persons with Disabilities at Utah State University, he studies how stress, resilience, and inclusion intersect, and what communities, schools, and organizations can do differently to support those with disabilities. Join us for his presentation as part of the Blue Plate Research Event Series on April 21st, 11:30 a.m. at the Gallivan Hall in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Wappett will dive into the disability and social services challenges in Utah and showcase the research underway at the USU Institute for Disability Research, Policy and Practice (IDRPP) which has been at the forefront of disability services since 1972. The event will include a live presentation and Q&A.
