Research Description

The Adhikari IPM (AIPM) Lab studies insect pests, pollinators, and sustainable crop management in Utah agricultural systems, including alfalfa, small grains, corn, safflower, and turfgrass. Undergraduate researchers will gain hands-on experience in field sampling at farms and research centers, insect identification using microscopes and taxonomic keys, laboratory processing of specimens, and data management. Students interested in entomology are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Requirements

Students should have interest and enthusiasm for entomology, insects, agriculture, ecology, or related biological sciences. No prior research experience is required, although careful attention to detail, willingness to work both outdoors and in the laboratory, and a desire to learn insects are important.

Financial Compensation

Research supplies and materials will be provided. Depending on project needs and available funding, undergraduate students are also eligible for hourly paid positions.
