Research Description
Up to 6 student researchers will be working with the Body Composition Lab on two different data collections:
- Huntsman World Senior Games: We are measuring lower- and upper-body power in older adult (50+ y) athletes. Data collection takes place in St. George, and student researchers need to be there from 8 AM on Oct 7 through 2 PM on Oct 10. Lodging is provided (Airbnb shared with other student researchers).
- Girls wrestling body composition study: We are measuring the body composition of high school girl wrestlers. Data collection takes place through the month of November, and data collection sessions will be in the evenings and on weekends.
Qualifications and Requirements
- CITI (research ethics) certification is mandatory.
- We can train you, but you need to be available for the data collections as indicated in the description.
- Preference is given to sophomores and juniors so that you have adequate time remaining as an undergraduate student to present the data at conferences (e.g., USU Research Week, regional sports medicine conference in CA).
