American Psychological Foundation Scholarships and Fellowships

APF gives scholarships, dissertation funding, research support, travel grants and fellowships to launch careers for graduate students dedicated to the discipline. Student support ranges from $300 for travel support to $25,000 for fellowships.

Department of Education Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program

The Jacob K. Javits Fellowship program provides fellowships to students of superior academic ability—selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and exceptional promise—to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in selected fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences.

Department of Energy Science Graduate Fellowship (SCGF) Program

Supports outstanding students to pursue graduate training in fundamental research in areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer and computational sciences, and environmental sciences.

The DOE SCGF is a three-year award, providing partial tuition support, an annual stipend for living expenses, and a research allowance for full-time graduate study and thesis/dissertation research at a U.S. academic institution. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and either a first or second year graduate student, or an undergraduate senior at the time of applying, and must be pursuing or plan to pursue graduate study and research in areas relevant to the science programs supported by the DOE Office of Science.

EPA Fellowship Programs

The EPA STAR graduate fellowship program supports masters and doctoral candidates in environmental studies.

National Academy of Education Spencer Dissertation Fellowship Program

The National Academy of Education Dissertation Fellowship Program seeks to encourage a new generation of scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education.

NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program

NASA’s Aeronautics Mission Directorate is currently accepting scholarship applications from undergraduate and graduate students in aeronautics and related fields for the academic year beginning in fall.

NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program (GSRP)

The NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program (GSRP) is an Agency-wide fellowship program (also called GSRP Training Grants in what follows) for graduate study leading to masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering related to NASA research and development. This twelve-month award strongly encourages a research experience at the NASA center extending the GSRP Fellowship.

NASA Space Technology Research Fellowships

The Space Technology Research Fellowship solicits graduate fellowship proposals from accredited U.S. universities on behalf of highly qualified individuals pursuing or planning to pursue Master’s (e.g., M.S.) or Doctoral (e.g., Ph.D.) degrees in relevant space technology disciplines at their respective institutions. This fellowship opportunity is open to students pursuing advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Selected candidates will perform graduate student research at their respective campuses and at NASA Centers and/or nonprofit U.S. Research and Development (R&D) laboratories. In addition to his or her academic advisor, each student will be matched with a technically relevant and community engaged researcher who will serve as the student’s professional mentor.
