Student Spotlight: Jennifer Ha

Majors: Psychology and Global Communications

Jennifer Ha is a URF with a dual major in Psychology and Global Communications, with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Linguistics. Coming from West Jordan, UT, Jennifer came to USU for the low tuition and stayed for her love of Logan, UT and USU as a whole. She has been heavily involved in both the URF program and USU leadership as a whole. For the 2020/21 school year she will be serving as Student Advocate Vice President and will advocate for students’ needs and concerns at the administrative level.

Her research focuses primarily on neurodevelopmental disorders, primarily autism and ADHD. Her project focuses on school psychology and investigates how bias plays a role in the diagnoses and treatment of students in a school setting. She has been awarded an URCO grant on the subject entitled “Impact of Student Race/Ethnicity and Sex on ASD Identification in Schools” under the mentorship of Dr. Maryellen McClain Verdoes.

She plans on pursuing her interests through a graduate degree following graduation, and looks forward to making an impact in others lives through her work.
