April Cooper

Biography

April Cooper manages the operations life cycle of USU Intellectual Property: innovation disclosures; patent filings, prosecution, and maintenance; and federal IP reporting and compliance via iEdison. She also coordinates agreements such as Non-Disclosure Agreements, outgoing Material Transfer Agreements, and IP Licenses, along with the required post-signature obligations, renewals, and financials. April oversees the TTS Evolve database and website, prepares departmental reporting, and coordinates with related university offices including Export Control, Conflicts of Interest, Sponsored Projects, and others. April joined USU Tech Transfer Services in 2024 with a background as an IP paralegal for many years. She holds a B.S. in political science and a minor in Asian studies from Brigham Young University. She loves working with USU inventors and being exposed to fascinating and influential new innovations.
