Biography

Eric Jorgensen began working with the Office of Research in the Environmental Health and Safety Office (EH&S) as the Hazardous Waste Manager in 1992. In 2017, Mr. Jorgensen assumed the role as the Director of the EH&S Office to oversee USU’s environmental programs, industrial hygiene services, and biological, chemical, field, and radiation safety. Mr. Jorgensen received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from USU in 1988 and a Master’s in bio-organic chemistry from the University of Utah in 1990. In addition to his work at USU, Mr. Jorgensen spends his winters working with the National Ski Patrol as an Outdoor Emergency Medical Technician at Beaver Mountain and summers maintaining the family farm in Richmond, Utah.
