Biography

Dr. Aaron Olsen was born and raised in Cache Valley, Utah. He attended Utah State University receiving a degree in Animal Dairy and Veterinary Sciences. Dr. Olsen then attended the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in Lafayette, IN, receiving a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Master’s Degree in molecular biology.

He worked in private veterinary practice in Blackfoot ID for one year before returning to Utah State University in 2003 to join the Institute for Antiviral Research (IAR) as a Senior Research Associate, and to pursue a doctorate degree in Bioveterinary Sciences, which was completed in 2008. Dr. Olsen left the IAR in 2005 to assume his current role as Director of the Laboratory Animal Research Center in 2005, and was also appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Animal Dairy and Veterinary Sciences Department in 2008. In 2011 Dr. Olsen achieved the highest level of certification in the field of laboratory animal medicine by becoming a Diplomat of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
