Wayne Taylor

Biography

Wayne Taylor joined the Utah State University Office of Research in 2025 as the Executive Director of Sponsored Programs Accounting. He is a CPA with over 20 years of accounting and government auditing experience for the State of Utah and for the federal government.

He began his career as a sales and use tax auditor for the Utah State Tax Commission. From there he became an auditor for the United States government where he had auditing stints at three federal agencies: the Department of Treasury, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy. At the Department of Energy, he conducted and supervised performance audits for the Office of Inspector General, specializing in auditing costs incurred by government contractors who manage our national laboratories.

Mr. Taylor earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Southern Utah University and a master's degree in accounting from Weber State University.
