The Anthropause Diet, with the Iguana Researching Dr. Susannah French

Tourists love feeding the Northern Bahamian Rock Iguana. Instead of eating local plants, these herbivores anxiously wait for tourist to being them delicious grapes and other non-native goodies. With COVID-19 restricting travel within many countries, what does this mean for this reptile when tourists are no longer vacationing to the islands? Dr. Susannah French is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Utah State University. Much of her research centers around the Northern Bahamian Rock Iguana’s diet and lifestyle, which has been upended during the pandemic. She studies how this will effect the Iguana species and paints us a picture of what to expect in the coming years.
